Archeological Musuem of Larissa

A 19th century mosque houses this museum. It has a large collection of finds that span a period from the Palaeolithic to the Roman era.

Its collection contains the following exhibits:

  • Fossilized animal bones that date from the Palaeolithic Age.
  • Finds dating from the Neolithic Age.
  • Pots dating from the Geometrical period.
  • Burial finds dating from the Archaic period.
  • Prehistoric megalithic monuments (menhirs that represented divinities).
  • Archaic and Byzantine architectural finds.
  • Hellenistic and Roman sculpted works of art.
  • Archaic and Roman tomb inscriptions.

The entrance to the museum is free and the museum is open every day except on Mondays from 8:30 a.m to 15:00 p.m.
