Karitsa
They deal in the culture of chestnut trees, in tourism and in the exploitation of forests. It is worth mentioning the fountain of Kokkino Nero the mineral water of which has therapeutic qualities. The entire region is overrun with chestnut trees, with beeches, arbutuses in which there can be found squirrels, wild boars, deer and pheasants.
The oldest churches at Karitsa are dedicated to Saint Athanasios and Saint Nicolaos while Saint Michael and Gabriel are its patron Saints. Festivals take place only on 15th August and on Pentecost. However, the fête of chestnut that is held in October is the most significant festivity during which a feast takes place while chestnuts are offered to visitors for free.
The picturesque houses of the village, the traditional fountain of Paparizou, the bridges, the marvelous beachesravine of Calypso and walking on most beautiful slope of mount Kissavos. (Psarolaka, Panagia, Kokkino Nero) are among the most important tourist attractions. It is also worth experiencing crossing the Kalypso Kanyon.
